Marti says in the Behind The Smile documentary that his granny delivered him and she delivered all the children in the street, so I think the public toilet story is probably an urban myth. ;)

Always wondered - is it true or urban myth that Marti was born in a public toilet in Clydebank? If so his mother must have went into labour unexpectedly
