IMO Mark looks embarassed to have to play his no 1 identifier song over and over again during his developing career. In some earlier concerts he even seems to mutilate it so as to escape from stereotype effect. Nice problem to have! As an amateur guitarist I took some 10 years to try and emulate essential passages of the solo, never sure whether I really or only nearly nailed it and certainly never anywhere close that unique expression that MK can put into his playing: So to me it will never ever be boring whatsoever.. One can put so much melancholic and at the same time joyuos feelings via bendings/vibration/hammerings etc in this song that it sounds like the singing of a bird. It is so much more than just plugging a rapid succession of notes.
