Is this lipped...? Her mouth movements don't match the sound. I know Top of the Pops was notoriously lipped but I never thought Mariah lipped this early in her career.

This was in the 1990's.... Real singer/songwriters never lipped synced. Mariah Carey has more than proven she has killer vocals. All of her live performances (for her first few albums anyway) sound identical to the studio track because she really is that good. She was my music idol when she dropped Vision of Love... I haven't followed her most recent stuff. But she has had a phenomenal career.

Honestly, I don't think this is lip synced. Her voice sounds like it's a mix between the Music Box era and Daydream era and her tone sounds kinda different to the studio recording. She was also taking breaths which you can probably hear quite clearly.

I love when artists lip-synch. I love it even better when it's convincing. I like a challenge, and she almost fooled me ..but this she is miming. The mannerisms aren't organic and she looks exhausted (and not in a "I'm giving my all" kind of way) ..was the audio taken from a previous recording??
