Like the Beatles and CCR before them, who cranked out classic smashes on schedule with astonishing ease, Bolan and co. were among the all time great singles bands. Not to slight the albums, but good lord, you line those ace 45s up back to back and play them through and you've got a pile of gold few can touch.

he reached his potential, he wrote at least 6 or 7 truly great songs. This one, Get it On, 20th century Boy, I love to Boogie, Hot Love, and others. What a poet, and such a voice, so sixties. He just evokes the sixties with that tone of his voice. And his words, I compare him to Dylan, who was his hero. He never wrote the really great stuff Dylan did - but Dylan is unique. Dylan is our shakespeare.
