We are all bourgeois now. I don't get the irony so I think it's great being bourgeois.

Top Tune, one of my Fav's on KYE but (Ug, Yuk!) it could have done without the awkward & prolonged close up of the Gingers Genital Area. And yeah, it's an Epic Jumper too, had one exactly like that in the mid-70's. It was a much loved & sadly missed Christmas Present that could very well still be doing the rounds of some Charity Shop somewhere to this day, either that or on Noel Edmond's Wall in a glass frame :D

@Rich27014 Tim Gane wasn't the singer, he was the guitarist. Malcolm Eden was the singer/lyricist. Otherwise, yes. I like this kid's jumper, by the way.

5% of the world owns 95% of the wealth. 95% of the world owns 5% of the world. We are all bourgeois now!

Excellent song, crappy video... You still got a thumbs up from me though :-)

@thedraizetrain They existed in the twilight world of Joh Peel and the odd Indie chart appearance and were exceptionally left wing. Despite doing 3 albums, they never realised any commercial success. Singer Tim Gane formed Stereolab, after McCarthy's demise and had a damn sight more success! Your user name is right up there as one of my favourite Smiths tunes. Played it to death for years!!

I've only just recently discovered that the Manics covered some McCarthy songs, a band that I've loved for a long time, and this is a fine version, very true to the original.
