Of course,there're good performers of this song from the musical "Show Boat" (Howard Keel,Tony Martin,etc) .But  Lanza's " ardour to a girl", his  confirmation & belief  in the imaginary love  so sneak the soul , that as many times I listen to Mario's  remarkable recording - so many times I am firmly sure : the girl was awfully impressed from his first words and he conquered her love at once ! :-)))))

So so tired of the current music scene, so much pop chart rubbish being thrown at us from the moguls who run the industry. What a pleasure to listen to the best tenor, singer of songs the world has produced, the one & only Mario Lanza. Pavarotti was another great tenor but lacked the magic charisma of Mario. My thanks to all who have posted videos on this site.
