The style of this theme reminds me of the mighty overtures that preceded Ben-Hur and Lawrence of Arabia, excellent, almost operatic movies in their own right, as well as countless musicals and actual operas. We ought to stop calling these by the boring term "Main Theme" and calling them what they really are- Overtures, Preludes, and Suites of Introduction. And they say that the era of composition is over.

It sucks that in Awakening, you have to wait until Sully gets married in order to recruit a Knight unit. Characters with a high defense stat other than Frederick are important in the beginning of the game, too :/

Nintendo thought this would be the last game in the Fire Emblem Franchise. Similar to Square back in the retro days, they also thought that Final Fantasy would be their final game (hence the title). Everyone seems to create their best work when under pressure. If only video game developers created games with that burning passion that you receive when you know that you'll have to say goodbye to that franchise someday. When you wanna go out with a bang, your determined to accomplish something you've never even dreamed of reaching before. Nintendo, with that thought in mind, created a product unlike any other Fire Emblem game ever made.
