This excellent song is abt the ill-fated attempts to popularise Pepsi Cola in China around the time of Nixon's visit (?). An ad campaign was created in China with the winning slogan 'Pepsi Cola Brings Yr Ancestors Back From The Grave'. It was meant to say 'Pepsi Cola Refreshes Yr Spirits...' but someone got the translation awfully wrong. I'll bet the Chinese had a good laugh abt their ancestors coming back...

Funny, it sounds a bit like Gary Numan. Yes this magazine LP was good, but really, compared to the first two albums, not earthshaking. I like the drumming on this cut.

I totally agree! Have no idea why it got this bad reputation. McGeoch or no McGeoch, MMATW is a wonderful album and is no less than Real Life and Secondhand Daylight. I actually think it is better than Correct Use of Soap, but this is only my opinion.

Love it. One of the best tracks on 'Magic, Murder and the Weather'. I slated the album on my first couple of listens, but now it's really grown on me. It is a very underrated album. I think most Magazine fans have erased it from their memory, I think especially considering the absesnce of Mr McGeogh. But still it remains a sturdy record that gets better with repeated listenings.
