Cont...I'm sure there's probably a demo somewhere of Madonna singing the lead on this track however this version is Donna De Lory's voice. This is the album version of the song. I have it along with the rest of the tracks on Donna's 1st solo album. There may be remixes that are more "uptempo" however I don't believe I've ever heard them though.

This is NOT Madonna on the lead vocals. She wrote it and is featured on the backing vocals as anybody who is familiar with her voice can hear plainly. There's that "Madonna Richness" which I LOVE SOO much but is sadly lacking from most of her current music. I think it may have something to do with the growth's she had on her vocal chords which are a result of not singing with proper support over many years. They were removed after finishing her Blond Ambition tour in 1990.

Donna recorded this after madonna rejected it, madonna rejected this as after "true blue" she had moved on Donna got it in the 90s...way after its time!

Well, actually this IS Madonna. An unreleased track from Like a Prayer session. Donna was given this song in 1993 and recorded it in a completely different, upbeat 90's style dance arrangement. The confusion comes from the fact both Madonna and Donna's voices sound pretty similar and they both recorded the backing vocals for both vesions. That's why it's so hard to tell them apart.
