Love this movie so much!! First time I ever saw Kevin was in this movie & I've been in love & a fan ever since. He's a charming, funny, sexy & very talented gentleman, all class. I'm too young to know Darin but I love his music & from the videos I've seen, I think Kevin was great & even looks like him.

I'm not religious, but this reminds me of John 15:13"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."Nor are there many actors who'd run the risk of looking too old for a part, recognize it, and do it anyway. That's the magic of acting: out of admiration and respect for the man and his talent, Spacey aced his portrayal. Not by looking or even totally sounding like Darin but by embodying him. Two men, forty or fifty years apart, both of them with enormous talents as entertainers: close your eyes, people, and it's 1959 and Darin's on stage at the Copa.

this was a great movie and a great performance by Kevin Spacey. my 10 yo son and I saw the movie together and he loved 'beyond the sea' and was mesmerized by the dance scenes. when he asked how they did that I just said 'it's called choreography son, and when it's done well it's a beautiful thing'.
