#sid was the sound file format used back in the #c64 days. Later on, I think, people called the significant sound of this kind of music file #chiptunes. I already liked the sound back when r'n'b producers didn't steal it to use it in their own production (Producer Timbaland rips song from finnish musician?).Along the years there was always one band that I kept coming back to, #Machinae_Supremacy. @1gregre1 That's not to say there aren't short bits in Part 1 that I really like, namely the SID parts. But all the guitar parts are so much better in part 3, here if it weren't for the SID sounds, this could've been some random video on MTV and long forgotten, it's that forgettable!

@1gregre1 On the contrary, part 3 picks it up. Part 1 & 2 seem like regular songs and that's no fun when you're expecting to hear highly energetic video game music played in a manner that respects the original. I'd argue the original C64 sounds are big part of *SIDology* and that's why the guitars sound like that in part 3 (=cool), they're trying to stay true to the SID sound. Not some metal/emo wan* sound which needed sid bleeps added to make it part of SIDology.
