I for one know plenty of rednecks who are into country music, as well as southern rock, gospel, and even the symphony. Where hillbilly and redneck are both the same is that they are stereo types for people that just don't fit in a box.

Johnny singing about something that he really knows NOTHING about. Born in Jacksonville, FL and raised on the Westside. JVZ was never a hillbilly and not even much of a redneck and certainly NOT a bad ass piece of hell like his brother Ronnie. Johnny sings this song well enough though and the mandolin sounds good. Now, what Southern Rock band ever employed a MANDOLIN? A mandolin is for phucking bluegrass. Skynyrd is one mixed up package these days.
