Howard Devoto is a genius. Forming Luxuria after Magazine folded was a brilliant move - in every other sense than commercial... Intelligent, funky, dramatic, powerful, deeply felt... How can it get better than this. Saw Devoto with Magazine at Lyceum in London in 1978 and never recovered.
