Haven't sat down a long time with that song, but i think the chorus is A major, B minor, E. The bass guitar moves to D, but the guitar is playing A major on top of it. Try A major, A major with D in bass, B minor, E. Switching to A major is what gives it that cool change. But hey, i could be wrong.
