I'm glad he got famous and is going where he wants to go. I still prefer this album overall but as a kid from WA to hear this years before the heist. i just wanted him to make it. Even if he changes entirely and i don't buy his new stuff. One music lover to another i just wanted him to make money doing what he loves even if i don't love it anymore. He and Ryan Lewis earned it. Do you macklemore and i hope life takes you where you wanna go.

Macklemore isn't a rapper... He's a poet who sings his work. A rapper just... Rails about what's popular, I guess. But a poet, puts real thought not into what's popular, but how they feel, how to deliver the message in a strong and memorable way... And Macklemore does this, even if it doesn't sound like a poem like Thrift Shop, it is. Every word in a poem matters, no matter what, it's not just a song. If I were asked, I would say Macklemore is an artist, or poet who raps his work and sounds like the most blessed saints coming down from heaven with unexpected but amazing saxophones and basically playing heaven on an instrument while Macklemore uses the voice of god to sing.
