If LostAlone and MCR sound anything alike then it's because they have the same influences, both Gerard and Steven are huge Queen fans for example. Gerard might have been their executive producer, but like Steven said in several interviews he acted more as an advisor, Steven sent him his demos and they talked about which song was good and which wasn't. They weren't even in the studio together as far as I know. To cut a long story short, just enjoy both band's music and stop comparing :)
