Patsy knew Loretta was bound for great stardom...that's why she befriended Loretta. Many singers in Nashville...(namely the women)...didn't want Loretta to succeed and held a meeting to discuss on how to run her out of town. Patsy was invited to this meeting and she knew what the women had in mind. She then went over to Loretta's house and told her to get dressed up and that they had somewhere to be that night. Patsy showed up at the meeting that night with Loretta right behind her. I would have loved to see the look on all the other country gal singers faces when they saw Loretta there! Patsy put her stamp of approval on Loretta and the rest is history! Loretta herself said to succeed in Nashville one has to be First, Great, or Different and she was all of the above in my books!

My mother grew up like loretta did . shit i remember going to my grandmother house and using the out house . Out house is a hole in the ground with a wooden , shack on over it. It scared me at night when i had to go pee and worried there be a snake in it, lol

Loretta Lynn is one of my favourite country women singers. So real and i love how she can sing these melodies of her dear friend Patsy. The are both blessed with Gods gift of singing. I wish she could make it to New Zealand to sing for us kiwis! Love you since i was a wee child....
