A #choir medley of "The Rose" by Amanda McBroom and the hymn/carol "Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming".

Who would have thought that Michael Praetorius (c 1571) and Bette Midler could have been merged into something of such great musical beauty. I love it.

17 people need to be executed at sunrise. They will not burn in hell for they have no soul.

Just heard this round with, The St. Olaf Choir and Jentekor, a female choir "Christmas in Norway." My new favorite piece. <3 Thank you.

I just heard the Saint Olaf choir perform this medley. A bit jarring initially, but a burst of creative genius to blend these songs: Joins the message of hope of the birth of a Savior with the notion that we all can be born anew if our urge toward love is nurtured . . .

In all honesty, this was one of my favorite pieces I ever performed in choir. Despite what people say negatively about it, it's actually a beautiful piece.

Ugh. Shocking juxtaposition of texts, not to mention style and quality. Squirm-worthy.

I rarely make posts on YouTube videos, but I felt it was important to state how much I truly dislike this arrangement. It is abysmal. I cannot believe that any self-respecting choral director would actually program this drivel. The texts are about as opposite as one can get. Hmm, let's combine a contemplative hymn about how God fulfilled his promise to send a Savior for the world, with a self-indulgent whine-fest about unrequited love. Total garbage.

My thoughts exactly--although mine were more vulgar as in, "what a way to fuck up a perfectly good song." Thanks for the sanity check. Talk about a terrible arrangement... Even these fine singers couldn't save it.
