Ozzy Osbourne asked "Who the ---- are The Hooters"? the day of the show. Hope he found out for himself. Cheers!

I was there, it was freaking hot. I'm not sure how we made it through the whole day, but we HAD to see Led Zeppelin (who were TERRIBLE). I saw The Hooters again years later and they remain to this day the best live band I ever saw.

the hottest day I can ever remember in Philly the fire hoses were out and all the bathroom sinks were torn from the walls ! People walking around with spray bottles giving relief to the brothers and sister that looked overheated. All in all a very peaceful ,loving event and a memory Ill never forget ! I was 22 yo seems like yesterday :-(

Oh boy, it happened 30 years ago. Time flies. Such an emotional tour de force by the amazing Hooters. This brilliant song gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.

So here's the deal. The Hooters were never supposed to be on the bill. Larry Magid who was promoting the concert locally talked co- promoter Bill Graham into putting them on. Their 1st MAJOR LABEL album was barely 3 months old by this point. When Bob Geldolf saw the list of U.S. acts he actually said "Who the f*** are the Hooter?", it was quoted in Rolling Stone. The irony is that in 2004 Geldolf was the OPENING ACT for the Hooters during a European tour.
