On this day in 1956 {August 24th} Little Richard performed at the Cotton Club in Lubbock, Texas; in the audience was Buddy Holly At the time Little Richard's "Rip It Up" b/w "Ready Teddy" were on Billboard's Top 100 chart, "Rip It Up" would peak at #17 while "Ready Teddy" reached #44 And just short of one year later on August 12th, 1957 Buddy Holly, with the Crickets, would entered the Top 100 for the first time {"That'll Be The Day", peaked at #1 {for 1 week} on Billboard's Best Sellers chart}
