It's June, 1971. It's grad night at Disneyland.Between the rides, I wonder with my date to the front seats of a small size outdoor concert area. A larger dance attraction seems to be upstaging things close by.Little did I know.There is Linda Ronstadt, just a few yards in front of us, singing this song. I didn't know of her, nor Smokey Robinson or members of a future group called the Eagles.I think I'll remember this night for a long, long time.8 years назад

This is a great song of unrequited love. When you are young, it is the most painful, gorgeous and best remembered love there is. Its power probably comes from and remains with the fact that it is not requited. You never get to go shopping together at Tesco, cook together (that is a mixed blessing), have a shared house, car, bank account, children, in-laws, visits to the garden centre, decisions about whether to move or not to move, shared friends who so easily become enemies.Linda sings it with a young passion. I fell in love with Linda when I saw her photo in a Magazine. Upon reading the article I discovered she was the singer in a favorite song of mine at the time called Different Drum. I was absolutely smitten. I spent a fair bit of time over the next few years trying arrange my business trips so we could end up in the same place at the same time.
