This is an interesting video that shows Bill and Lester reuniting during an Opry segment. Lester's emcee work is top-notch and the playing and singing can't be beat either. If anyone can help with some of the name's of the musicians that would be great. There are several musicians in Bill's band and Lester's band that I cannot recall.

Fiddles - Paul Warren, Kenny Baker, Joe Stuart, Joe Edwards

Banjo - Jack Hicks

Bass - ?

Mandolin - Bill Monroe and Roland White

Guitar - Lester Flatt and James Monroe

This was a special one for sure! I never really ever heard why Lester got so cross at Bill? Doesn't matter at this point as they are both pickin for eternity now. ;)

This is the Holy Grail. Bill Monroe with Lester Flatt The ultimate bluegrass group. Would have loved to see Earl Scruggs with them.

Maybe Jack Hicks on one banjo and Vic Jordan on the other. Also, I see James Monroe on guitar in back.

The 3rd fiddle is Joe Stuart who was playing Guitar for Bill at the time....He had just switched to the guitar with the departure of Danny Jones in Sept of 71... It appears to be Monroe Fields playing bass who took my place in the band...He joined in October or early November of 71,,,, The 4th fiddler almost looks like Joe Edwards,,,, But I have to wonder how he came to do this with them...he was an all round musician but certainly not in the same caliber of fiddler as the other guys.. Roland White on the other mandolin, I see James Monroe and Johnny Johnson on guitars in the back ground.... Johnny was playing bass with Lester at the time.... Jack Hicks and Haskel McCormick on banjos... What film is this clip from, its got a time stamp on it and appears to be Grand Ole Opry... But I'm wondering if it is the First Early Bird BlueGrass Show during the Opry Birthday Celebration in 71,,,,

This is just wonderful to see. I think there are FOUR fiddles. I recognize Kenny Baker from the Bluegrass Boys and Paul Warren from the Nashville Grass. I don't know the other two, and one is behind Baker's hat most of the time, but I wonder if it's Joe Edwards from the Opry band.
