Eddie Van Halen gets a big surprise when old pal Leslie West shows up. Naturally Sammy talks him into doing their favorite song. Eddie is obviously STOKED that he's playing alongside one of HIS idols.

Jones Beach never saw a hotter day than this.....

West just wanted to play. I wish he would have sung too.

Two of the top five guitarists. The other three are Joe Walsh, Adrian Belew, and Prince.

Yep. Les can do more with 10 notes then most guitarists can with hundreds. That's not cliche, that's fact. In fact, the great Joe Satriani said the same thing. He said he played a mind numbing solo with with thousands of notes, then Leslie came in and with the first few notes, said more than Joe did with all his notes.

I'm not sure what part of my statement you are referring to as a "cliche". I'm assuming you mean the "old school" part. Whatever label you want to put on it... please do so. West is from a dying breed of guitar players (Is that a cliche?) He is all about taste and tone. something that is missing in a lot of today's guitar players. And as far as making a point (about anything) I say use whatever people under stand... cliche or otherwise.
