Why? The hum stops as soon as the song starts. Anything that hides hum, I mean ANYTHING causes depreciation of tone. May as well use humbuckers.

I don't know how he managed to hide the hum, but I hide the hum of my p 90's with a noise gate. Just a Boss.....it works. FYI, anyone :)

West was one of my guitar heroes in high school in the late '60s early '70s. I started playing guitar in the mid-'60s because of the Beatles and Dick Dale, but kept playing it because of West, Hendrix & Page. I didn't know much about Leslie, not having seen a vid before. Seems like a real down-to-earth self-effacing kinda guy. Also, nice to see now that he's not a museum, he's a musician-- still playing with feel rather than imitating past glories.
