An unreleased gem (until 1994's Bear Family collection) from Lesley Gore's very last recording session for Mercury is her rendition of Dusty Springfield's hit "All Cried Out". Lesley recorded 4 songs at this final session, but Mercury only released 2 cuts, which turned out to be her final single for the label ("Wedding Bell Blues" and "One By One" - Mercury 72969). The other initially unreleased song emanating from this session is "Got To Get You Into My Life". Pictured above is a prototype label, how it might have looked if the song was actually released in 1969.
Lesley's swan songs for her original label found her soulful, moving and emotional - giving her best in all these performances. Arranged, conducted and produced by Paul Leka. Recorded July 31, 1969 in New York.

wow thanks for sharing. I've always loved Dusty's version and I've always loved Lesley. Its a good version but Dusty still has the edge on this one for me.10 years назад

Lesley does this "song" wonderfully....I had only heard Dusty Springfield's rendition of it..and I liked it very much. It was not a hugh smash for Dusty..but Lesley's is much more upbeat. Truthfully..both versions are great. Of course Dusty's came out in late '64..5 years earlier. I do not have the "Bear Collection"..so,this is a "first" for me to hear this.Похожие клипы
