The cameraman seemed to favor Chet for some reason. Les would be playing incredible lead and the cameraman follows Chet playing rhythm perhaps a bit louder. There are closeups of Chets hands and very little of Les'. A musician cameraman who knows what's going on would be great.

I much prefer the version with Chet and Jerry Reed, Les just has an odd style to me.

You might be interested to know that when Les Paul was starting out, he had a trio and Chet's older brother played guitar with Les in those days ( back in the late 30's).

Ironically, Chet switched to Gibson guitars when Gretsch, in a cost-cuttong mode, started making their guitars in Mexico soon after this appearance was filmed.

Your so right! These guys were two of the worlds best guitarists. I love Les's flash and style the way he slung the guitar before the term guitar slinger ever existed. And you hit the nail on the head when you referred to Chet's effortless virtuosity. Right on brother!
