I had posted this before, but after the end of the song there was a 5+ minutes silence and a black screen, something which I had not noticed when i made it. The slideshow in that video was much better than this one, me thinks, but at least you can use this one in a playlist... The first video can be found at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cw3Ru3N7wPY

Copying the info from the other video: "From the Death Of A Ladies' Man album, 1977. Couldn't find it anywhere, so I uploaded it myself, although I'd easily say it's one of the worst songs Cohen has ever written.. ^_^"

a very idiosyncratic album due to Phil Spector's approach but so full of (pure) despair, beatnik melancholy irony and caricature it is still one of my favorite L.C. albums. and in this I will have to disagree with master L.C. himself who has repeatedly said he despises it!

Sounds like Crowe music a bit

Horrible, horrible production, real wall of sound. Spector's magic touch might worked for many, but no way for Cohen. This is just... so loud.

I don't agree that this is a bad song. This was only Cohen's worst album because of Phil Spector, whose production style just didn't work for Cohen's music and lyrics. The songs themselves are great. It was a nice touch on this song though, to have Bob Dylan and Allen Ginsberg sing backup vocals.

Love this song. Tragedy struck my music collection shortly after my child learned to walk. Still haven't been able to replace this album

Don't forget: Allen Ginsberg was also doing back-ups on this track. IT was, a very 'liquid-lubricated' night, when they did this track. It sounds like they had a GOOD time.
