Can we get a few things straight? The original was very good. This cover is very good. Even though the lyrics are somewhat teeny-bopperish, they are honest and straighforward. Who hasn't gone through a period like this in a relationship? (And Scott Bankey: "I don't want to FIND anymore" -- seriously, dude? Do you not have ears?) As for Kori's little ad-lib, it's amusing because it injects HER perspective on what HE'S singing. Her ad lib on "True Love Will Find You in the End" is more annoying than the one here. Anyway, there is a reason that "Laura" and "True Love" are the bookends to "Crushes." They are the two best songs on the "mixtape." Thanks, MOS, for turning me on to several songs that I would not have run into otherwise.

This song is so catchy I think it is contagious. I need a flu shot now! One of my TOP 20 covers of all time. Girls did a fine song but the Mates just take it to a new level...the sing, talk response in ' I've been an ass" is the clincher.

Hmmm... the original Laura is so painful and ironic. This song is, basically, a literal interpretation of the lyrics. Does this make it any worse? Hmmm... If Mates wasn't such a literal band then I would say yes. But that's their thing so cheers!
