I've always been interested in this band/group, liked their music, and I wonder now why more people don't listen to their work on YouTube.  Sixteen thousand listeners is peanuts when compared to other singers and groups, especially if you take into account how popular this band seemed to be back in the early eighties.As for Larry Gatlin being a "jerk," that thought has crossed my mind.  I remember one incident in particular when he was on a TV talk show, and the subject of people writing in songs to him came up, and he summarily dismissed the efforts of these people in a way that said more about Larry Gatlin, I think, than it did about those innocent fans who were sending in the songs.For one reason or another, Larry Gatlin doesn't connect with people, apparently, the way you would think, given the fact that the group seems to be better than the fan support shown them.  I recall one guy accusing Larry of being effeminate.  I took it to mean that the guy was jealous of Larry's way with women, but it does show, I guess, a disconnect between Larry and his audience.This song, "Love Is Just A Game" shows off the group's terrific harmony, and it particularly shows a creative genius at the end when the brothers come in for those tailored "de-e-e-e-e-el again"s that seem to rise out of nowhere on the heels of one another.

Larry Gatlin's voice is unmistakable and in my opinion, the BEST EVER in Nashville. There are and have been many great CW singers (M. Robbins, M. Haggard, G. Watson, R. Price, C. Pride, R. Milsap, F. Young, G. Jones, G. Campbell) to name a few, but Larry Gatlin's range and control of his voice puts him in a league of his own. Larry can sing anybody's songs but few can sing his.

If anybody sees this from upstate NY do you remember the group Memphis or Memphis Four from the 80's? They probably did this better than the Gatlins. I had them on reel-to-reel but the tape broke.
