Large Professor, also known as Large Pro, is a Hip Hop producer and MC from New York and a founding member of Main Source. Large Pro began making beats as a teenager and, under the mentorship of prod...ucer Paul C, he created beats for Eric B & Rakim on their 1990 album Let the Rhythm Hit 'Em (MCA). He joined Main Source in 1989 and they released one album together, Breaking Atoms (Wild Pitch, 1991), which featured the first public appearance by Nas, whom Large Pro is credited for discovering. Large Pro's first solo album, The LP (Matador) was just released in 2009, having been delayed by record label politics since 1996. In the meantime, he released two other solo albums, 1st Class (Matador, 2002) and Main Source (Matador, 2008). Large Professor has produced tracks for Nas, A Tribe Called Quest, Busta Rhymes, Slick Rick, Masta Ace, The X-Ecutioners, Big Daddy Kane, Mobb Deep, and many others.
