Great song. When we are Young say teenagers or in our early twenties we dream a lot. It is part of the process of growing up. Many ridicule such dreams but anyone who does not dream seldom accomplishes anything. We must all dream when Young to attain success later. Maybe in a different field we imagined but we shall accomplish something if we dream first and work later to attain what we dreamt up.

@hardabossa: Oh.. and I have to agree with you - A "Lani Sings Jobim" album would undoubtedly have been a masterpiece! Hmmm.. Maybe with Laurindo Almeida (guitar), Stan Getz (saxophone), Oscar Peterson (piano) and Milt Jackson (vibraphone)? Certainly not low profile musicians, but all of them maestros that understood Jobim and the unselfish genius to put the spotlight on Lani. :-)

First there was Bach (followed by a lot of arguments).. then there was Jobim.. and then the Beatles. And after that? A few sparks, but no lightning! (just joking, of course) :-) But seriously, those composers in their specific genre set standards that nobody else could match. Sergio Mendes (another genius) was a close friend of Jobim, and it shows (His 'Mais Que Nada' was absolutely brilliant!). In my humble opinion, the best vocal interpretations of Jobim..? Lani Hall, Astrud Gilberto and Frank Sinatra. Some of the best instrumental versions I've heard were by Laurindo Almeida, Oscar Peterson, Stan Getz and of course, Jobim himself. Ah, how I miss those days.
