Prob because Lady B is from Philadelphia PA and was an indy artist. Radio wasnt wide spread with Indy artists as it is today. and you being on the opposite coast , cross country, they prob didnt play her music out there in Cali

What? This is my first time hearing this and I'm 44 years old. I heard Sugar Hill Gang in 1979 and it damn near made my school (Mountian View, California) go bananas. Wow, why have I never heard of this artist?!? Marketing?
