There is a difference between sloppy playing style and being on drugs like Omar.

People think this is sloppy? They clearly haven't seen At The Drive-In's performance of One Armed Scissor on Jools Holland.

I agree, Jonny's style is very unique and hard to copy. I really think it would do Simon's playing some good if he were to try his skills in some other more guitar-oriented project as well. I don't mean he should leave Klaxons, just something on the side that would highlight his playing cause it has potential. I can definitely hear Cobain-influences in this song as well with the slightly chaotic sound.

definitely an influence in style and guitar playing. Simon Davies (klaxons guitarist) is one of the few guitar players who can play similar to Jonny but still be original and not rip him off. And that's saying something because by nature of Jonny's guitar playing it would be hard to copy. I'd also say Thurston Moore and Kurt Cobain are influences for him.
