great performers pull the audience in so they feel the song like the performer does. I saw Kenny one time and he had us sucked in from the beginning - what a stud.

The hand clapping screwed up -- overwhelmed -- this great song and the great singing ! Shame !

This is a great piece of music but destroyed in this live version by the inappropriate clapping. Yes it has a good beat which you can clap to but this a serious topic which Rogers tackles so well in this song and to clap to it just demeans the song, the message and the audience who don't seem to get it.

This is one of Rogers biggest hits, so of course there is going to be excessive clapping. Listen to the record if you don't like it.

I expect "applause" in a live version. But this is incessant clapping that is not in rhythm with the music.

After being rejected by everyone else in the business, his solo career was launched when the late Larry Butler saw the crowd go nuts as he sang the first line of this song. It happened at Garrett Coliseum in Montgomery, Alabama.

What a fantastic thing that must be, to just get out the first line of the song and have the audience burst into applause. You know they're going to love it. Everyone's going to be happy. What a tremendous ability that must be for artists. I wonder, does anyone know where and when this performance took place? The titles at the end make one think it's in some way a german production. But was that a german audience?
