This song was played in the background on a few Happy Days episodes from the first season and I liked it but didn't know who did it or the title for years because I grew up in the 70's and 80's!

On Valentine’s Day in 1956, “Rock and Roll Waltz” by Kay Starr was the top record in the USA. “Rock and Roll Waltz” was the first number one single by a female singer in the rock era, the first to have “rock and roll” in the title and the first number one single for RCA Records.

Love the facial expressions here on Kay....She really enjoyed acting out her songs! She was such a CLASS act...Give me Kay Starr ANY DAY over the likes of today's Lady Ga Ga and any similar ilk.

Sorry, but after seeing the Lena Zavaroni version of this song, give me Lena's any day. Lena was a little powerhouse.
