in the usa there was a style of 'bar music' called 'honky tonk'. they used a collection of all kinds of instruments and played a 'ragtime' type of sound. it was fun, often humorous, hand-clapping music. to me, this is the 21st century evolution of that music. ironically, those honky tonk bands were almost exclusively male (except for a possible female singer). what a hoot! lol
