At the time Kate made this the AIDS hysteria was starting, the desease was starting to get home to 'normal' people and only then pharmacy started to do research for remedies. This video is based on the hypothesis, that HIV is a virus artificially made and fled from laboratories. This topic is a logical developement from Kate's earlier songs like Army dreamer, Breathing and the like.

The BBC costs me £145 quid a year , love Kate bush , more poetry than anything else , how ever that rather tame video of peeps dying from sound should be applied to the Likes of , I dunno , One direction , who's brains should be actuallyblown off i n every god dammed video/record they make. Wow I didn't know Dawn French and Hugh Laurie were in this video. They looks so young here. I've never watched this Video even though I've had the vinyl record for decades. Its really well directed and the lighting is great. Would never have thought a 1986 video back in my teen age days would impress me 29 years later. Its nice to be surprised like that.
