Karl Michael was clearly trying to capture the teen vote this evening on The Voice.

The singer songwriter won a place in Team Danny for the live shows, after his epic knockout performance and this evening, as he fought his way through the quarter final, he performed 'A Thousand Years' by Christina Perri.

The song was a huge hit for the US star last year, and became even more popular due to it's presence on the soundtrack for blockbuster movie The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2.

Michael was desperate for votes this evening, as he knew that only two of his team could progress to the next stage and before he even sang he tweeted his followers saying:

"Ok so it's getting tense in waiting room have to smash this performance!! Come on #VoteKarl plz Rt Rt #TheVoiceUK"
