I just lost my Dad last week. He has 20 or so grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. I'm sure that many of them would think of him, in this song. I lost 2 out of 3 of my Grampas back in '74 or '75.

I lost my grandpa in Oct 04' I was deployed to Iraq I never got to say my goodbyes the last thing I told him before I left out was don't be going anywhere I hear this song and reminds me of him I just start smiling and crying all at the same time love you gramps see you when I get there

All my other grandparents (apart frk my mums dad) died before we were born. Then when i was at 12 my mum died. Yet although my life even when my mum died i knew i had my grandad and anythink he told me i'd belive and i'm thankful my parents brought us up on this always take ur grandads advice he gives good advice and belive me i always have. I wish all of you missing your grandpas the best. I never got to meet my grandpa as a adult. My parents kept me from my grandparents, spinning lies about them and why they dont let me see them. After I grew up and found out my parents were the cause of the family tension my grandpa had passed. I still have a few worn out pictures of me and him watching the football games buts thats it. Thanks to my father in law I got the gumption to call my grandma after many years to say hello. A few months later, I ended up bringing my daughter down there to visit grandma and it was like Justin says in this song... Walking up the steps... I felt like a kid again. :) My grandma always loved me more than words can say and met me and my new family with open arms.

My Great Granddaddy just passed away today, just before noon. My cousin shared this on Facebook. I started crying when I watched it. He always, "Walked the walk and talked the talk." He would help all the kids in town if their bicycles broke and even until the end he still wanted what was best for the rest of us. Rest in Peace Great Grandaddy.
