I adore Judy, really I do, But I think Lena Horne owns this song. Much in the same way as no one else can quite sing "Over the Rainbow" like Judy can. Just my two cents. Still a gorgeous rendition of the song though! Judy could make any song sound like it was written just for her.

Lots of speculation on that topic. Jim Aubrey had no appreciation for Garland's talent, seemed to work overtime to undermine the show. Mel Torme's contention was that Garland was the one who fired Schlatter. I'm inclined to believe the former rather than the latter. In spite of the difficulties, we have this amazing body of work as testimony to an incredible voice and an incredible talent.

George Schlaughter did the first 5 shows with Judy, and she was in top vocal form. After George was fired, Show 6 with June Allyson showed what change could do to Judy's voice. Case in point, when Bill Colleran was hired, Judy's voice was great again! Now I am a huge Garland fan and always appreciated what she could do with a song no matter what condition her voice was in. Case in point:"What'll I do". I think that one of the great mysteries is why George was fired.
