Almost everybody is singing nowadays, and they sound really good. However, most songs have no soul because they are not about truly valuable topics. Most songs are about relations, loving and sexing, behaving badly or some other assorted nonsense. I like many of those songs. This one by Josh has a nice beat and he has a good voice, but the song does not do anything meaningful for me. Maybe some girl might find it meaningful. Only a handful of singers make a good living singing those kind of songs. Most classic hits are meaningful to the listener in some spiritual or soulful way. People would say that singer (by name) got 'soul'. Very few singers today got soul. However, there is a formula for singing success though only a few artists can attain it. Some singers have to get away from all the auto-tune and dance beats and sing songs that really send an uplifting message. Artists who are willing to address the current issues that affect our lives with a good clean musical score will do well commercially. We have enough love songs to choke on. The richest 1% is getting ever richer while the rest of us are getting poorer; virtual slaves. We need songs that will lift us up out of despair.
