"Hold on..." Josh, in the Spirit, calls us to persevere...because He will come, to make a way for us in this "desert" we currently live in, to take us, like He took Israel, through the river ("part the water... through the deep and the unseen") into the Promised Land. This may include leading us into better circumstances here, but ultimately speaks to our future permanent home, which is the New Jerusalem in the world to come. An amazing song. The "dead wood" are those people on the earth who have not yet accepted the word of the Spirit, so they have no spiritual life in them. But we are not like them! An interpretation: When we were spiritually dead ("young") and apart from God, we "walked" where we wanted to, being led by our own fleshly desires. Now we're "old" (alive in Christ, mature), we follow the Spirit as He leads, which is often into sorrow (and yet at the same time, joy!). We become one with Him. We get revelation that God is sovereign over all, and that it's simply a matter of time before we will "rise" (overcome our earthly trials; be resurrected to glory; reign with Jesus)...11 years назад

i know this doesnt have much to do with this song, but my memories of this song are laying down with my lover with a bowl of chicken soup while sick, we bundled under the blankets and he played this song to relax me into to sleep, which was a release from my pain, and we slept listening to Josh`s songs, very peaceful sleep.11 years назад
