Cal, you have her personal biography correct, but I will have to rain on your parade.....Joni is very much alive at 84 years of age, still doing a few concerts and living in the Chicago area, I believe.....!!!!

Joni James passed at the age of 61. Much too young for a talent like her to leave us. Joni began as a dancer at the ripe old age of 12 and also was a model while in high school. Giavanna Babbo, born in 1930 in Chicago became this wonderful singer known as Joni James. The world misses this voice. I know I do!
