While many, and I do mean many don't agree with his approach, passed down from Tom Lomonaco, and Tom's well known teacher, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone teaching the true singing technique that produced the huge voices from 1890 to 1970. I've heard his students and in a live setting these are huge beautiful voices

Promptersbox, you may be more excited to know that you aren't exactly right about your statement. I use to say and believe the same thing until I found Mrcafiero. Look him up. My voice has grown to epic proportions but we are all young singers. Some breaking old habits by bad university teachers

yes they are and I wasnt aware of this fact. TY forf that. i was simply looking at the voice and NOT the medium. Im listening to Von Biber at the moment becomimng dilerious at the majesty and immpossible matrimony of Human voive and Trumpeto made by some sort of god in the Missa Salksburgensis.

Choir voice classifications are different from opera voice classifications.

Well I believe the stupid one here mate is you because all the Welsh Male Voice choirs have what they call "Top Tenors" Google it you f/wit before you call someone stupid. Especially in a group of three tenors.

@Sambosingo WTF does that mean. Ive never heard of those terms before. I know Tenor baritone Bass Countortenor High tenor Top tenor but not this heldentenor. Its sounds like its more suited to Wagner and not Handel.Perhaps bach.

Thanks that makes sense. I am learning this role as I have just recently found my heldentenor Quality in my Baritone voice. I have now made the commitment to change my focus to be Dramatic/Heldentenor.

@Sambosingo It may be the record or cassette tape it came from. Whenever I play vinyl records or cassette tapes, they come out higher than the original pitch. When I convert them onto my computer, I adjust the pitch to normal (or what would be normal at or pretty close to A = 440).

This is performed up a half step? Wow. Its hard enough I wonder why? Period instruments?

Almost unbelievable he can still master dynamics at 59 years of age after singing heldentenor rep for so many years, he is something else entirely

Along with his myriad other virtues, Vickers had impeccable English diction:). Very impressive, too, that after at least a quarter-century singing the heaviest French, German and Italian roles, he still sang Handel so beautifully --
