Tessie--Hi, it's Bill Dean from the Left Coast--have you seen the Robert Duval/Emmy Lou Harris duet on YT of the same tune?

Originally broadcast Tuesday, August 3, 1993 on The Nashville Network (TNN). Alison Krauss - fiddle, Adam Steffey - mandolin, Barry Bales - bass, Dudley Connell - vocal & guitar, Tom Adams - banjo. Both bands, Alison Krauss and Union Station, and The Johnson Mountain Boys, performed with their complete groups earlier in the program. The grouping of musicians shown in this video segment performed the program's closing number.

I just discovered a wonderful version of "I Love To Tell The Story" here on YT. It is Allison and Robert Duvall. If you like this, you'll probably like the other. Very quiet-just them singing and her playing guitar.

I saw Allison few months ago with Rodney Crowell. Row2, Center. She has always been very slender and her hair has been greying for years. I think the person playing the fiddle is the Cox sister, Suzanne. I know Allison does sing and play with the Coxes on occasion. I've also seen the Cox Family. What a treat both performances were.

i guess it is Allison, saw her a singing a song with cox family on another video from the same event as this one was taken from, so it confirms it is Allison on the violin with black top and red skirt playing violin .. i went looking for confirmation

i looked closely, do not believe that is Allison at all, may give that illusion because of hair, there is a slight close up and from what I can tell, it is not her, I do not ever recall ever seeing Allison heavy as this women appears to be and the way she is playing not the same grace playing Allison does????

We need more #banjo around these parts! *Let Me Rest*Here's one of the hottest #bluegrass bands ever, The Johnson Mountain Boys with Alison Krauss filling in for Eddie Stubbs. This is a great lineup with Tom Adams on banjo, Dudley Connell with guitar and vocals, Adam Steffey on mandolin, Barry Bales on bass, and Alison on fiddle.

That is some beautiful singing, fiddling, mandolin picking, guitar strumming and banjo picking with great bass accompaniment, isn't it? A very nice blend of all of the instruments. It is so good that I want to hear it a bunch of times!

@MrShocktime absolutely agree - about the cleanest ever. I've lost my fathers CD of "Right Hand Man" but when I used to teach beginner banjo I'd always say "Get that and thats how it ought to sound one day".

Traditional Bluegrass at it's best.
