Dee Dee wrote the song and played it for Johnny, told him that he (Johnny) could use the song and Johnny told him he didn't like it, then ended up playing it all the time. Just listen to the guitars, you can totally tell that's Dee Dee's writing.

I love this song, the riff is gritty and dirty like it should be. I picked up how to play it within the second listen of the song. :D I like it a lot, and Johnny looks really cute on here too.

chinese rocks was a potent brand name heroin back in the mid -n - late 70s... sure johnny had something to do with the song! great tune....

I dunno about the luggage in Paris, but DeeDee gave Thunders the song because the Ramones didn't want to play it. They thought it was too drug-related.

there's a big problem over the credits for this one, to be honest. if we check out the credits on "end of the century", there's no mention of Richard Hell, neither Lure nor Thunders. the same is in 2002 reissue of LAMF - song is credited to Joey, Johnny and Dee Dee. But it's true that Dee Dee told later he wrote this one with Hell in Debbie Harry's apartment :)
