Thanks for sharing Cal. A few nights into Johnny's debut at The Whisky George, John & Ringo Showed up to see the newly anointed "Sultan of the Sunset Strip" They really admired his music and he said later when he toured England he also met Paul and they all hung out together. I've always felt he was one of the few straight forward rockers who's career grew and really prospered during the British Invasion. I heard him recently say in an interview. That rock and roll was dying out before the Beatles came along and they gave it a shot in the arm. I'd have to take his word for it as I he was there and I was a little young to be. A quote from Steve McQueen in the liner notes he wrote for Johnny's 1965 album - In Action : "Johnny Rivers is no fad. He’s an artist, one who will survive and continue to grow long after many another has been forgotten."Steve was right as your video 49 years later proves! Long Live Johnny Rivers :-)
