He has a beautiful voice so sweet and soaring. The music is atmospheric and evocative. There is no substitute for perfect pop. I will prefer pop and heavy 60s and 70s music and the lighter stuff and when a lot of music was being created that had atmospheres to it always to what popular music is now. Once upon a long long time ago what was even considered heavy metal was a lot of melodic bands. I don't know why melody and sincerity went out of music and out of the world. Now it's up to indie bands to bring us great music and the popular idiom of all media stinks of corruption. My parents are slaves to disturbing television. The world prostitutes itself to sickness and conformity. Looking back I never knew it was gonna turn into the 21st century schizoid world. Yeah, I mean like King Crimson and "21st Century Schizoid Man" is from 1969. Times are bound to change I suppose. A shame, though, that they didn't just add even more depth with all the technology that's wasted.

I was never a big fan of 80's music or album covers that looked like Johnny Hates Jazz. BUT, I happened on this track "Foolish Heart," and it's just one of the most beautifully recorded, sung, and melodic songs I heard that decade. This is a masterpiece. I've played it hundreds of times. It's classy. It has richness and sincerity. It's up there with Belouis Some's "I Don't Mind At All," and Colour Field's "Badlands." I may not have cared much for these artists overall but I would never say they weren't brilliant musicians. "Hey, Johnny....where are you going with that gun in your hand?" Love that conclusion. Came as quite a surprise the first time I heard it. That's what I like. Little surprises like that. It shows creativity. Yeah...Johnny Hates Jazz -- they were good...they were real good. (I understand they are back too! With an album called "Magnetized" -- I will definitely check that new LP out. No under-estimating them this time).
