Big river is also a great song, with great lyrics. Others: Going to Memphis, or his later songs: Drive on, When the man comes around, On the 309. I think it's hard to rank songwriters, but in my opinion he was one of the best. Maybe not as deep and rich in associations as Dylan or Cohen. Cash was also deep, but kept it simpler and more down to earth, mostly. But as a performer I would rank him even higher. Not that Dylan or Cohen are bad performers, of course! Again, personal tastes...
