Is it just me, or is it only the right channel of the original recording? The same track on Looking Back has prominent piano played by John and mixed in the far left channel.

Sorry, Elmore James. I have your original on vinyl and John Mayall's version is oh-so-much-better. IMHO, it's the best one of them all, including Eric Clapton's version.

1940 - but the Tampa Red version has more and very different verses. It's obvious that Elmore had a memory of the song, and made up his own verses to give him something to sing in the clubs. There are a couple or three of Elmore's songs that you can trace back that way ...

Just gave me the chills, I was pretty young but I remember this music. I know an old retired mechanic and on a couple of Sat. afternoons us younger folk have showed him what we can find on his laptop in his garage. We have to get him some better speakers. He may never go back in the house...the man loves music...LOL...he just comes to life..with songs like this !!!
